Castello Fiorentino dates back to 1210, when the Count Alberti of Certaldo built the so-called Caput Aulae, the centre of the Corte d`Elsa. Dating back to the 8th century, the Corte d`Elsa was part of a Lombard signory including Castelfiorentino and Certaldo.
The magnificent building, which was then transformed into an aristocratic villa, belonged to the Alberti family until the 17th century. The square brick tower and the ramparts surrounding the villa date back to the 13th century. The villa is surrounded by a gorgeous terraced park overlooking the Tuscan countryside- the famous San Gimignano towers can be seen in the distance. In the lower terrace there are the swimming pool (10m by 5m) and a porch. Next to the villa stands the lemon house, which has been transformed into a living room. This beautiful  Italian castle in Tuscany for holiday, is provided with all comforts (Jacuzzi in four bathrooms, air conditioning, heating system-on consumption-satellite TV, phone, computer with ADSL Internet connection, washing machine, dishwasher, weekly linen change). Cook and the shopping service are available upon request. Maid service is provided 3 hours 6 days a week.

 
Ground floor
The main entrance opens onto a large and cosy living room with an imposing fireplace. On the left, a beautiful marble staircase leads to the first floor. From the living room a hallway provides access to the rest of the ground floor- spacious and well equipped kitchen, toilet, sumptuous dining room with French windows opening onto the courtyard, Yellow living room with fireplace, library with fireplace, TV, computer connected to the Internet and fax machine, 1 double bedroom (Frederick Barbarossa's imperial room) with en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath tub.
 
First floor
The marble staircase leads to the first floor, with 4 bedrooms opening on a long corridor- Yellow double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi bath tub, 2 twin bedrooms- the Celeste and the Pink bedroom. The Celeste bedroom has en suite bathroom with shower and bath tub; the Pink bedroom has en suite bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi bath tub, 1 master bedroom with access to the balcony overlooking the front courtyard, with en suite bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi bath tub. Laundry room with wardrobe and staircase leading down to the Yellow living room on the ground floor.
 
Tower/guest house
The annex is a Medieval tower standing alongside the villa (part of the original castle) and has its own entrance.

13th century chapel dedicated to Saint Bartholomeo, restored in the 18th century, contains a 13th century crypt.
