A Lovingly restored 14th century hamlet offering a range of accommodation.
Dating back to the 14th century, Prato di Sotto began its life as an olive mill before being lovingly restored over the past forty years. Sitting serenely on Montecorona, Prato di Sotto enjoys uninterrupted views onto the valley below and across to Monte Acuto. The first thing you notice is the peace and natural beauty where sunrise and sunset are a visual fiesta.
Located above the stunning medieval borgo of Santa Giuliana and immersed in the lush Umbrian countryside, this lovely Italian real estate property consists of four buildings, three of which are nestled around a charming courtyard. Each house has its own unique character, each consciously renovated using reclaimed tiles, oak beams, stone fireplaces and antique doors. The designs intend to gently combine modern amenities with a blend of both contemporary and traditional materials and fittings.
Building 1
The Owner's House - A beautiful and traditional Italian stone farmhouse which was restored approximately 30 years ago. It has a lovely sitting room with stone fireplace, a dining room, kitchen and utility room all of which have an abundance of exposed wooden beams. There are two bedrooms on the first floor, each with a bathroom ensuite. It also has a private terrace with views and its own private entrance. Building 2
Casa Antica and La Terrazza are within one building which was completely renovated very recently with new bathrooms, new kitchens and energy saving metal framed windows.
Casa Antica is the largest house in the hamlet. Spread over two upper floor of the building it high ceilings, original features and stunning, uncontaminated views. There are four bright and spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms as well as a modern kitchen. There is also a courtyard which is wrapped in Jasmine and is the ideal place for dining. La Terrazza is on ground level and is aptly named thanks to the large expanse of private terrace overlooking the valley below; the grape and wisteria covered pergola provide welcome shade during the warmer days. This lovely apartment has high ceilings and the original architectural features. The living area is open plan and spacious and the two double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.
Il Molino (the mill) was the original olive mill and was restored approximately 35 years ago. It consists of a charming, open plan studio with separate bathroom and it overlooks the hamlet’s central courtyard but also has a private terrace. The ground floor is currently an open plan space which could be incorporated into the studio space above if extra space was required. NB: The photographs regarding this property do not reflect its current state; the property is now unfurnished..
La Capanna, the smallest of all the houses. On two floors there is a kitchen and sitting room on the ground floor and a bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor. Set slightly apart and above from the main complex it has a private sitting area with patio and wonderful views. NB: The photographs regarding this property do not reflect its current state; the property is now unfurnished..
The properties all share the 15m infinity pool which is an easy stroll from all of the buildings.
A traditional country estate provides all the comforts of modern life within a truly magical context.
